Welcome to Australia and the Ethnic Communties Council of Victoria present Campfire Stories 2018. After a sold-out event in 2017, this event is back again to celebrate Refugee Week.
Campfire Stories will once again feature four inspiring speakers with lived refugee experiences that now call Victoria home. We are proud to support the Advocacy and Power Program run by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, employing three of their participants to speak at Campfire Stories this year.
Starting at 6.30pm with hot chai provided by Chai Walli, we will begin with a performance and Welcome to Country by the Djirri Djirri Dance Group. We will then hear from our four speakers, with opportunities for questions from the audience as well.
The event will be held outside around a real campfire, so please bring a coat in case it's a little chilly! Should the weather be poor on the day the event will be moved inside.
Space is strictly limited, so bookings are essential.
This is a free, inclusive event with full accesibilty - all are welcome. Parking is available on the street in the surrounding areas.
This Refugee Week, as always, we are #withrefugees
