Settlement Services International (SSI), Access Community Services and BEMAC are proud to present Homelands, a seven-date collaborative live music tour across Queensland and New South Wales.
Showcasing the artistic talents of three musicians from refugee backgrounds, Homelands aims to build social cohesion and a deeper understanding of cultural diversity within Australia through the sharing of stories, rhythm and melody, and settlement experiences.
This debut collaboration will feature renowned world musicians Tenzin Choegyal (Tibetan, Dranyen), Kween G (Ugandan, Vocals), Yasmin Ibrahim Mohamed (Sudanese, Vocals), as well as Brisbane-based artists Marcello Milani (Guitar) Shen Flindell (Tabla).
The inaugural tour will take place from June 15 to June 22 in celebration of Refugee Week 2019. Homelands will traverse through schools, TAFEs, arts centres and live music venues across regional and metropolitan Queensland and New South Wales.
